Hey great story, Thom.
Now, you’re takin’ me back, way back... I was 27 when I got my first Porsche. At the time, it was an 11 year old ‘65 911 2.0 coupe. In its day, it was pretty souped-up and very quick. I got more tickets in that baby the first 6 months I owed it than I did in my whole driving career! Just about EVERY time I looked in the rear view mirror, I was seein' California black & whites with lights a flashin'. I came to one simple conclusion: Handing a Porsche owner a speeding ticket was like getting 'free' donation money for California. What sane judge in his right mind is going to believe a 'rich' guy who owns a Porsche and 'claims' he WASN'T speeding... Yeah, right... I've even been pulled over and actually had the cop mention he ‘liked my car’ and ‘just pulled me over get a closer look’ WHILE he was writing my ticket! Yikes, the dude had nerve... That's the kind that gives 'CHP enthusiasts' a bad name, eh?
At least you guys have a 'success' story! My hat's off to you and your accomplice. Good job!
