Good for you for stickin' it out McL...
I've just changed my overall strategy lately with equities and reduced my positions across the board....it's been a helluva ten year bull run.
I'm not an Apple fan...but I've been in & out of the stock for decades...no complaints whatsoever .

It wasn't easy to stick it out during the darker days, but at some point a few years back I fully committed to staying forever, and just stopped checking the stock price. I haven't seen it in months, I thought it was around $150. Most of the time when I see the price, it's from seeing it in this thread when it's bumped!
I came to the conclusion back then that Apple is going to remain the most transformative and important company of our generation. They do continue to innovate, but in addition, their brand value simply cannot be touched, and that cuts through to all generations of people young and old (but esp. young). They attract the best and the brightest new talent, and I don't think that will ever change. Like every company, there will be ups and downs, but I think 20 years from now they will still be on top.
I also heard a while back that Warren Buffett has never sold a share of Apple, he just buys and holds.
