That is generally how I ride. However I have noticed that the front brake makes my bike feel like it's standing up which is contrary to a compressed front fork. I've been thinking that it feels that way because my steering input hasn't taken into account the change in trail due to braking.
The video shows a locked rear brake when mentioning rear brake trailing. That is certainly true enough but I've found that if you properly trail the rear (w/out locking) you can settle the suspension without upsetting the front...much. I could be wrong and totally willing to be corrected.
