We have an area in the Fashion District here in LA called "Santee Alley". Propmasters go their to buy fake watches and sunglasses to use in film instead of paying big money for the real stuff.
You can get Rolex, Panerai, Omega watches for under $50. Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rayban sunglasses knockoffs for under $30.
There's even guys with pirated DVD's laid out on the sidewalk (some movies still showing in the theaters) and LAPD has foot patrol in the area. Those officers could give 2 shytes about what's going on.
