Some shots indicated good players, but mostly no concern for the position of the cue after the shot. Following the cue into the side pocket at the end is not believable.
I hope there's better pool videos than that around! All I can think of is The Color of Money.

Actually, in a race to 7 games won, I'd give either of 'em 2 on the wire. And I'm just a recreational banger. Obvious they are not pool players. Just actors pretending they can play pool. But the centennial table, the aramith tournament balls..hell, even the house cues...all top quality! When the actors were on camera shooting, shots made were hangers, probably set ups. Anything difficult, especially that smash 'em break was done by somebody who knew what they were doing.
But hell, I guess people didn't watch that movie for the pool...right?
To their credit, in the Color of money, both Newman and Tom Cruise looked like they knew what they were doing...level cue, good stance and follow through stroke. But they had good coaching from a pair of experts. Willie Mosconi taught Newman when filming The Hustler, Cruise learned from "captain hook" Mike Siegel (sp?)...both world champions. "Captain hook" nickname because Siegel was tops at safety play, often leaving opponents with no shot.
Color of money was full of top players...one some may remember is Keith McCready, who played the Grady Seasons character. His "It's like a nightmare" line was all his...told Scorcese (director) that no pool player would say what was in the original script, so when asked what he'd say, Scorcese agreed. McCready uses a weird sidearm stroke...a holdover from playing as a child who could barely see over the table.
