Men buy engagement rings because it is important to the person they love. Most little girls grow up dreaming of the day the handsome prince asks he to marry him. All the chick flicks and books depict the moment as a event the woman wants to experience.
Bottom line MOST women want to go back to work the next day with an engagement ring to flash to the girls in the office. They have had their girlfriends wave new rings in their face. They want a turn.
