OK guys splain these issues to me. So I have determined the fuel pump/sending unit I installed is faulty or is failing. The gauge won't go all the way to full or far enough down to trigger the low fuel light. It will go up to about 3/4 and down to just above 1/4. It did go to full and empty but now it doesn't. But that is not one of the issues.

Issue #1, When attempting to fill the tank the fuel nozzle shuts off every minute or so. I can only put two or three gallons in at a time then it seems to back up and turn off the nozzle. Even if I fill by hand as slow as the pump can go it will shut off. I need to wait fifteen seconds or so then I can start again. I have already dropped the tank twice to check for a pinched hose and readjusted the filler hose trying to get a straight run.

Issue #2, and I know this is coincidence and it will eventually happen someplace else but, When ever I drive this vehicle to Home Depot and come back out to start it, it won't start. This is clearly a fuel delivery issue and has only started happening since I replaced the pump/sending unit. If I unclip the air cleaner cover, shoot some starting fluid in the intake it will fire up run a few seconds and then stall. This happens twice. On the third try the vehicle will fire and run on it's own. It's as if the pump looses prime and it takes three starts to re-prime the pump. I can make a dozen stops before HD get in and it will be fine. Go to HD and it won't start. I can go to HD first and it won't start. Three shots of starter fluid and it will fire up. Leave HD drive where ever I want no issues. No issues at Lowes. This has happened at least six times.

Any chance the two are related? It's not venting properly or something?
