Leo was an interesting person. When he showed up for his first US Open aerobatic competition he showed up in a monoplane and it did not even have a symmetrical airfoil when everyone else had a Pitts or Eagle and they all laughed at him. He did OK that year and won the next. Then won several more. They all stopped laughing and most went out and bought monoplanes. The plane in the video is only 200hp but under 900# dry. He modified a Stephens Akro into the plane that now sits in the Air and Space museum. He was building a new one because he thought the Laser did not have enough control authority to do what he wanted. Yes, he wanted to throw it around even more. Sadly he dies in a motorcycle accident before it was finished.
It would be a blast to play airplane laser tag with those, though my brain would probably be all combobulated and backwards in my head afterwards.
