To my knowledge, Wellington to this day is the largest train disaster loss in the USA.
Yrs ago, I hiked down the slope to the wreck and grabbed a few pieces of rusty metal.
Wellington site is still there but only foundations are present. To go to site you have to drive down the old road from the top of the pass, the lower road was washed out by a flood yrs ago.
