My personal purpose for having a 9mm carbine is to use in centerfire steel plate matches. There are various classes for revolvers, pistols and now pistol caliber carbines. Since I tend to shoot more accurately and faster with a long gun, I see this as a way to have some fun! There is a "stock" class that requires open sights, 10 rd magazines and no mods like muzzle brakes, etc. Then there is an "unlimited" class that lets you use red dot sights and any size magazine. The stock sights on the Ruger PC carbine are a post front with a peep rear sight, my favorite setup. Let the fun begin!
