The one I have relied upon for decades is an old Cabela's aluminum case. It has a rod that goes lengthwise through every latch and that rod padlocks to one end. I searched their website but could not find one like it. There has to be something similar on the market today, though. It would be worth finding one.

Experiences like HardDrive's are, unfortunately, not at all uncommon. Anything you can pry a corner up on is out. Anything plastic is out.

Here is mine. It's got a lot of miles on it, and has never let me down. It's satisfied every little self-important piss-ant customs inspector who has ever seen it. Most importantly, it has never been breached. I can tell you horror stories about buddies' gun cases that cannot make that claim.
