I have to admit we have been looking at kayaks. We have a fiberglass canoe but that is not usable in the local river here and when we go to one of the lakes we usually fish from shore. That said, we canoe in old tennis shoes and shorts/t-shirt and hat for the sun and have vests for everyone and would be the same in the kayak.
