Remember that a lot of these (like mine) are middies...and 7s (fitment) were a challenge (although some run 8s in the back). Personally, I like 7s in the front and back on mine.
You have SC flares and can get a little wider tire/wheel combo under the fender.
Bill Verburg, our resident wheel expert, makes a good point. You may want to ask him to elaborate...regarding your application.
Lots if folks changed t 16s because of tire availability and to provide a bit taller gearing effect (particularly for high speed on the freeway/track). Some like the look of a taller tire. Personally, I like to be able to accelerate better...because i rarely drive that car over 70...and like to get to that speed more quickly.
