If I remember correctly he was flying missions from the Oriskany when he was shot down after switching carriers. He was like most of the Navy pilots I met while on the Enterprise in that he hated the way Nixon and later Johnson were running the war instead of letting the Generals and Admirals make the decisions. If I had been him I would put in my will that NO former or current presidents could speak at my funeral because a president had made my capture happen!
