Isabo, I had a feeling you'd reply to my query.
The Berninas I mentioned are relatively simple for a non-begginer. I believe between the snap on feet, internal stitch pattern cams and other automated niceties it will make an ideal machine. My wife is quite experienced but has never made the plunge for a good quality machine. We also have a local dealer that will provide classes. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they do not sell trade-in machines as they donate them to the needy.
I will also look into Elnas on your recommedation. I haven't seen a local dealer for this brand.
BTW, the other candidates were Janome, Husqvarna/Viking and Singer.
