I cannot remember more than three or four at the most being used up here in the PNW (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, B.C.) or as far away as Montana and Wyoming. Two were used by very good, match winning shooters here in Washington, who I squadded with on many occasions. Both eventually gave up and went back to their previous rifles, typically built by John King of Kila, MT. Everyone thought it would be cool to use the "target" '77 action in matches. It might be now, with C. Sharps building them. It sure wasn't then, though, with Axtell supplying them.
