For winter I say narrower the better so 15x6" I have 15x7" with studded Nokian tires and the car is a beast in the snow, I live in a ski town and have made probably 60 trips up to the mountain in the last two winters. Ground clearance is the limiting factor but taller tires and US ride height help with that.
