Sorry, I don't know for sure, as my car (a 924S) has a regular antenna. But my guess is that the poor reception may be caused by your stock deck/radio and/or the wiring. Your window antenna will probably work well with a new system.
If you have the spare cash, I'd recommend getting the system profesionally installed by a good shop. As the rear speakers can be hard to remove/install.
