Ironically, I’m selling a car soon too, and just got the estimate of repair and PPI for it today. It was exactly 3k as well, but I suspect I’m getting what I’m paying for. I also asked for images to be taken of the engine tests.

It’s unfortunate that it’s such a shady business. There are too many stories like this. If you had the ability to get in your car and drive it away unimpeded, you should’ve done so. The cops were telling you it’s a civil matter, so it’s highly unlikely you get stopped and arrested for stealing your own car after they say that. That’s a risky move that could probably get the cops in more trouble than you, that’s why they just stand there and mediate those situations. It’s also why when you hear of these stories, that the mechanic usually has the car properly blocked with his own cars, or gates, cause that’s the only thing legally keeping the car at their shop. The cops rarely will stand in the way of you taking your own property, they’d be playing civil judge if they did that. Which they are not.

Sue those MF’s and smear their name while you’re at it. Rennlist. Early911S. 6speedonline. Etc...

Yep BAR is definitely going to be called as they violated every single portion of the Consumer Bill of Rights and did not follow one single iota of the “Write it Right” program. I will definitely also be suing likely for everything minus the fuel sender as that appears to be the only thing they were authorized to do that they did successfully. Depending on what the noise is it may or may not be their liability. Off to another shop to figure things out. Thanks for the support guys. I can’t edt the posting title unfortunately.
