Just make sure to avoid the pre-'96 cars (disintegrating wiring harness- ask me how I know) and make sure the top is in good working order. I'm not a big convertible fan so the hardtop stays on 99.9% of the time, but when the hydraulics or computer begin to fail it can be a bit of a nightmare to diagnose.
If you can get a decent example for cheap, and expect to fix a few things, R129's can be a fun ride with that old school MB bank-vault feel.
