Great story, it reminds me of one time late at night I was driving home and a Black & White pulls alongside of me. I give a polite nod and the officer in the passenger seat starts asking me about my car, turns out he also owned one, so he asks if it's fast....I'm not exacty sure how to answer this, so I try to dilly dally around the question (I don't want them trailing me), I just said yeah, she's got a little get up and go. It was a long light and he was really interested in it, he immediately recognized the lack of the characteristic "whir" of the early cars and asked what engine I had in it, I reluctantly told him about the 3.6 and he floors me by saying let's see what she'll do. I just laughed and said, nah, that's ok, I don't need a ticket tonight. And he said, don't worry it's late, there's no cars on the road let me see how quick it is, just be smart and don't go too fast...I was at a crossroads of what to do, but he was so genuine, then his buddy starts revving up the Crown Vic almost taunting me, so when the light turned green, I squeazed the long and slim toward the floor and quickly put distance between us. I got to redline and chirped the tires as I shifted up to 2nd, and again as I shifted into 3rd. After I reached 3rd, I quickly slowed, we got to another red light and the two of them were laughing with envy the way high school kids do after I light up their Rice rocket civic's, integra's wrx's, or whatever they may have chosen to throw a huge wing onto. The cop in the passenger seat gave me the thumbs up and said be safe out there. I made my right turn and drove off toward home smiling, not quite sure if that had really happened. To this day, I chuckle out loud when I think about it.

P.S. Thanks for bringing back the memories
