I have had 2 Miatas and loved both. It is not a fast car but it is quick.
I only sold the last one as driving a stick in LA traffic is not fun.
I agree, go with the Mazdaspeed. The turbo gives it that extra kick and the fact that the factory burned down limited production numbers and increased the potential value.
AND, each one was bullet proof. Change the oil and get new tires, as needed, and you will be happy.
