I am of the opinion you can buy a car from anyone as long as you're smart about it. I would go see the car yourself, put your hands on it, drive it, inspect it make sure the whole situation passes the sniff test. This is a huge issue. Its easy to make cars look good in photos. Its easy to sound like a stand up guy on the phone. Take a look around when you get there. What's the place look like? Do they do their own work or are they the kind of place that flips a lot of cars and farms out anything the absolutely have to address.
Then pay for an independent PPI. Be careful who you choose to do the PPI. Some shops, in the past, have been exposed for working for the seller and not the buyer paying for the PPI.
RMC has been well discussed here and on Rennlist. Take what you want from that, GO SEE the car if your're serious.
Which car are you looking at? Reasonable chance someone here knows something about it.
