I had the same 300A, picked it up for $200 in the late 80's ended up giving it away when I moved. The foot pedal is about $300 new if you need it. The weight does not help there value, I ran mine on 240v 60A single phase and could only weld thin aluminium up to under 3/16", it needed lots more current get to its rated output. $500 starting price sounds about right.
