Brake job question

Hello all,

It has been a long time since my last post (4/2015 to be exact). I had a fairly debilitating injury that kept me from actively wrenching for awhile so I could use some advice.

This is a 2-part question:

I have been driving the 944 ('87 NA) off and on and getting some things done but I noticed recently how far down I need to press the brake pedal before it stops. It seems to go pretty far down toward the floor before it starts to brake.

The brake fluid level looks fine and I don't see any leaks so my 1st order of business is going to look and see what the pads look like.

PART 1 - Assuming I need to do the brakes I would appreciate making sure I am not leaving anything out of my parts list to do the front brakes.
  • 2 front rotors
  • Set of front brake pads
  • (4) Retaining Pins
  • (2) Spring Clips
  • (4) Securing Clips
  • (2) Retaining Springs

PART 2

If this doesn't fix the problem, where do I go next? My thoughts are, in order:
  1. New brake fluid and bleed
  2. New master cylinder.

Is there anything I am missing or doing out of order?

All thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

GHEN
