R53 hands down, I feel like Mini lost its way.
I had a JCW back when they were new, sold it to my my 911 and regretted selling that car it was set up perfectly.
2 years ago we purchased a 2005 JCW and it was just as fun as I remembered it. My wife loved it. Except it gets 25 MPG and she drives 100 miles a day. The only reason we got rid of it was to get the i3.
R53 JCW's are very hard to find.
