Little known rule:
In High School football, if the kick is caught as a fair catch, the catching team has the option of lining up for a free (no defense) field goal attempt. A couple of weeks ago, in one of the Colquitt County (Georgia) High School game, the receiver signaled for a fair catch at the 50 yard line. The CC coach called a time out and got his field goal guys out on the field for the effort. The kicker is a young man named Ryan Fitzgerald. He got set, the snap was made to the ball holder and the kick was good. He got credited for a 60 yard free kick field goal! Two weeks later, he kicked a regular field goal good for 57 yards!
