Where I work, everyone wears nomex overalls.
Makes it simple.
And if anyone shows up with a tie, you're supposed to cut it off. Ties are considered a safety hazard and it's said to be a tradition to take a pair of scissors to it, but it's only really happened once in the 38 years that I know of.
