Back in my single days I had on my "work in the yard or work on cars" jeans on. I had bought them as nice new jeans, and they evolved from the good jeans, to every day jeans, to tattered jeans, to the last step before trash. Both knees were blown out from actual working on cars and digging in the flower beds. The pocket areas were shot from many years of using the pockets. They were nearly trash.
One summer day I finished my yard work in the morning, and had to run to the parts store to get something for a car repair. They had a fast food place next door. So I stopped in for a quick lunch before getting back to work.
Some stranger with a thick accent I could hardly understand kept asking where I bought the jeans like that. I finally explained I wore them out like that and they were once nice jeans. He was disappointed he could not go buy some like them. I threw them away after one or two more uses. I guess I started a new style that day. Naaa, really worn out jeans have been around for years. Just now you can buy them pre-worn out. Not me, I still wear them out for real.
