Why could they not hit the SAM's before they were operational?

Why was that long list of priority targets done in reverse order over two years?

Why were pilots under threat of court martial for taking out SAM's not on an approved list from Washington DC, even if they were just shot at by that site?

Why were dozens and dozens of aircraft sent to bomb telephone poles painted white when reconnaissance photos clearly showed the SAM's had been moved and it was an ack-ack trap?

As the one man interview said, if you want to send a message put it in an envelope, don't send a bomber. Use a bomber to bomb.
