I showered outside back when I worked in the mountains. They were three sided with a wood floor - very simple. A 15 gallon grease drum with a valve and shower head held the water. You kept the drum half full of ambient temp water and boiled a big bucket on the stove which you carried up a ladder in the back and dumped it in. You got nice warm water, and the showers were heavenly. Here's one from '74. You can see the cabin roof at the lower left by the shower.
