There are several times in connecting from your home computer to a forum such as Pelican or any other that you guys might use. For example I use NMLRA, CastBoolits, ChevyHHR and even gunbroker. So what are the places of concern:
- Your home router and the mode of security?
- Your ISP and how ofter do they watch what you do?
- The internet connection such as mentioned, I.E. http or https?
- The server where the forum resides and how often does their admin look at what you do?
- Finally the forum itself which usually has a database behind it, is it Oracle (best) or MySQL (free), ETC so the info you post can easily be stolen. The https is a very small part of the overall security worries you should have.
