I took it to one of the shops that Byron suggested above and I was 100% wrong.
It was a cassette.
I bought a new cassette, bearings, tire and rebuilt it all. It is smooth as silk.
Thanks everyone. I'm now ready for the HSR Daytona 24 next month.
