It has been years since I have been but there are tons of tourist all inclusive resorts near Havana at Varadero.
Food there can be questionable and most of my friends that go usually complain that they spent a few days with Montezuma's.
Stay at one of the better resorts and it is less likely.
Nice beaches and close for day tours into Havana.
