for sale '84 928S, 4sp auto, $12.5K

for sale '84 928S, 4sp auto, $12.5K

I bought this car in 2008 to be my preferred daily driver, to take some of the miles off my '85 911 Targa (also for sale). over the first few years did a LOT of major refresh. got the car in running condition, but to ensure it would be a reliable daily driver, refreshed almost everything.

too much to list, but highlights are:

last year a FULL timing belt, WP, seals, new cam/oil pump gears, etc. etc. did everything possible.
new shocks,
complete rebuild of front suspension, motor mounts, bushings, upper and lower ball joints,
ceramic coated headers with full 3" SS exhaust.
full intake refresh, fuel lines/pump/filter, plugs, wires, coil, dist cap, rotor, sent injectors for cleaning.
brakes with 18" wheels and I have the original 16" wheels,
rebuilt AC converted to 134a a few years ago.

I know I have done more. since this refresh the car has been generally reliable. I have driven it regularly over the years, excepting winter and bad weather.

why sell? I had accumulated 5 old porsches and time to start letting some go to new homes. in addition to maintaining and upgrading this 928, totally rebuilt my original Porsche an '85 911 targa over the years (also for sale) and resurrected two 944s, . just sold the 87 944S.

I have a 78 911 SC/930 conversion I have been working on restoring for 5 yrs and REALLY want to finish building that car. at this point completely dismantled. never seem to have the time to focus on it with so many cars and my 3-4 DE events a year in the 944 turbo and the associated maintenance / repairs on this collection.

if you are looking for a great 928S driver, this may be the car for you. overall excellent condition. it has had some paint work and I found evidence of the right front fender having been replaced, also suspect the front bumper. not long ago slid on wet pavement and bumped the right rear fender, see pics.

if this does not sell soon, will probably have that repaired. if so the price will go up quite a bit. if someone looking for such a 928 and would like a full repaint, now is the time.

serious inquiries pls.
