Depends on what you are going to do. For example I have a $10,000 muzzle loading target rifle that lays in the back of my range vehicle and it has a home made sleeve and gun sock inside it. If I were to fly to a match somewhere I would want a case that is airline approved and lockable. We have some guy that come out to the range and their cases are like a status symbol so remember the idea is to protect the gun.
