The V12 came with the TH400 transmission, the 4.0 6 cylinder used the ZF 4 speed automatic. I have a 1994 XJS Convertible 2+2 with the 4.0 engine. For the most part, it has been a pretty reliable and trouble free car. Since I bought it about 5 years ago, I have replaced the convertible top, rebuilt the brakes and replaced all the belts and hoses. The only real "issue" that it has had was a failing crankshaft sensor. Sometimes it would start, other time not. Once I replaced the sensor all has been well with it! Oh, yes, it is British Racing Green with a tan leather interior and a black top.
