Thanks SOOO much everyone! This is greatly reassuring - I'll be placing an order asap. Really appreciate all the advice!

One last question though: Once I install would I need a realignment? To be clear only one side failed so I would replace this side, tighten to recommended torque and then replace the other side and do the same. I'd make the adjustments to the drop links with a friend of my same weight in the drivers seat while the car is on the floor (ie jacked).
