Thank you Chevron Techron gods
I had noticed within the past year that my engine felt a little tired. I hadn't put much mileage on the 911 in the past two years and it had spent a lot of time sitting, especially in the colder months. It didn't seem to indicate there was a serious problem when running in terms of sound, smell, or smoke but the throttle response felt sluggish and at times there was just a hint of hesitation which I couldn't tell if it was in my head or actually an engine concern.
I chalked it up to the motor being 81,000 miles and 30 years old, and resigned myself to at least a top end rebuild in the coming years or to simply live with what felt like a reduction in power.
So after mine and my brother's G-Body mechanic recommended Techron to him due to a stumbling/stalling issue with his '84, I dumped a bottle in the tank and put 60 hard miles on the car and it feels like a new engine. The engine wanted to rev, throttle response was crisp, and the revs built linearly like I had remembered.
I'm so happy with the car again!
