When my Dad was young a couple of guys took him bird hunting with them. They had him walk out in front of them and they would shoot any birds he flushed before he could even get his gun up. They were using him for their bird dog.

He cleaned up at the barbershop and overhead them bragging. Sawed off his double barrel shotgun so it would have a wide pattern. He went with them again. When he flushed the first covey he was ready, quickly raised that double barrel and let go with both barrels. Said he got every bird in the covey. He then rushed to the town barbershop and cleaned is birds telling everyone how those guys were not going to use him as a bird dog any more.

The guys came into the barbershop a bit later and tried to continue bragging about how they used my Dad for a bird dog. My Dad walked out from the back holding up all his cleaned birds and said he would be happy to go bird dogging for they any time they wanted.
