I use an iPhone app called "Mr Number". It identifies scam and telemarketing calls, either flags them or blocks them as I choose. I also tend to not pick up if a call isn't in my contacts, I let it go to voicemail. As a result I essentially never answer the phone to hear a marketer or scammer.
