One must remember we are on a 24 hour, 7 day's a week, minute to minute news cycle. Something bad is happening nation wide or world wide every minute and it's plastered in our faces in a endless gloomy loop. You are immediately force fed doom and disaster every single day.
With as many people there are in the world today, the odds of a maniac tragedy happening are really quite low given the sheer volume of the worlds population.
I'm not saying don't pay attention, or be cautious and you should for sure, trust your gut if you get bad vibes. I'm just saying given the amount of scary awful stories, force fed and bombarding you constantly, you can't help but think this is how bad the world is today. In reality its always been this way. We just didn't have it constantly forced in our faces every minute until cable news and the net came along. Local stories stayed local.
People get killed every day in auto wrecks but its so normal and boring now its not a big deal. Reading and handpicking the news off the internet is for sure the best way to stay informed and not get sucked into the "anxiety" in my opinion. -WW
