I got some of the carolina gold after watching "Mind of a Chef". It was good. It was odd for me that it wasn't aromatic since that's what I'm used to. I found Sean whatever's recipe for Hoppin' John and used the Anson Mills red peas and CG rice to make it. It was very tasty, but the recipe, especially for the rice was more involved than it seems like rice should be.
