I bought the Cessna kit from the local FBO.
But I cheated. Grew up around airplanes (thanks, dad). According to my logbook, I soloed after five hours. No telling how many hours dad let me have the controls while growing up. Dad wasn't an instructor, but he taught me well.
When I began official lessons, it was a bunch of "Been there, done that".
