I don't know if BG goes back that far, but by the late 60's he was a "wild man" on guitar....a la Jimi (but I'm not comparing them)....Jimi crossed over to r&r...the rest is history

My exposure to the blues was via the Stones, Allman Bros, Clapton, etc. and the "real deal" blues they evolved from came later in life for me.
Have y'all seen the Festival Express dvd? It's great imo....good stuff with Janice and Buddy...and Uncle Jerry too
