Back in the olden days when I was in high school and no one had computers except NASA and the BIG companies.......

The journalism class I was in was taught at the first of the story, in the first paragraph, try to convey who, what, when, and where and maybe why what happened. Add details further down in the story. Flesh out the entire story toward the end.

Now the articles mostly start off with some feel good thing, or fact that is unrelated to the core of the story. Like The person's best friends name in grade school or some other random fact that is mostly irrelevant. To find out what really happened I am forced to skip a few paragraphs to try to figure it out. Often the nuggets of facts are totally hidden in the article. I usually just skip on to the next article. Often the actual relevant facts are not brought up at all, because it might sound politically incorrect. It might takes weeks to finally hear really what really happened. And TV reporters are the worst. They love love love to show a crying mom or parent. The house just burned down, and they stick a microphone in the face of the victim and ask "How does this make you feel."
