His had struts up front so no need to compress any springs. I think it is a GM thing to make it difficult to replace them. Would have almost been better to replace the lower a-arm and bushings at the same time. Actually, it would be better to have him buy a new car. The A/C system needs replaced, the window regulators have been replaced several times over, the headlights have been replaced twice.
