In the end, I cheated big time. I took it to a local shop I trust to do the A-Arms and a new alignment.
One of the the factory front end parts that wore out ages ago was the steering arm. The factory unit had no grease zerk, as it was a "lifetime" lube. Yea, lifetime of 60,000 miles. The replacement has been on there ever since and it gets lubed regularly. It is still in prefect shape after 300K miles.

I replaced the OEM rack on the Cobra with a Flaming River quick ratio unit. The old one was worn out and the boots dried out and ripped. Much better feel of the road and I don't have to hand over hand when parking so much.
