To be fair, the Tenderloin (where you stayed) is possibly the very worst part of San Francisco.
There are plenty of other beautiful, vibrant, and historic neighborhoods you could have chosen.
I do wish people would pick up litter and wash their sidewalks off once in a while. That's one thing the whole city seems to suffer from.
