We have to ask, why the increase in homeless people?
There was a time when it was hard to live on the streets. No one wanted to live on the streets, everyone really tried to find a different way. it sucked.
Getting arrested, getting chased away, nobody lining up to give you free stuff all the time, not very many idjuts handing out money on the off-ramps, not very many good-intention pavers handing out free food and blankets and tents and such. Enablers.
So we didn't have that many people living on the streets. They looked for and found something better. they had what we like to call an
INCENTIVE!!!!!!!!
But then,
we decided it would be a really good idea to encourage bad behavior, to enable it, to REWARD it.
We started playing nice-nice to people trashing our streets and neighborhoods.
We started giving them money,
we started giving them food and letting them take over any place they darn well pleased. And their numbers grew.
Some folks tried to lie and blame the problem on the economy or some other such nonsense, but we all knew better.
So the hand-wringing ninnies said "hey lets double-down and do even more of the dumb stuff that caused this epidemic, and see if we get a different result this time".
But it didn't work, to no one's surprise.
and the problem grew.
Al those good intentions actually HURT lots and lots of people.
All those people pretending to save the world, but they were condemning instead of helping.
But they keep right on keeping on with their false smugness.
Stop encouraging and rewarding bad behavior. Make it uncomfortable and unpleasant to live like that and they'll find a different way to live.
If we keep making it easy to drop out and act like that, their numbers will continue to grow.
And the ninnies will wring their hands and do whatever they can to make it even worse.
No more excuses.
